1. Build and Train a Robot
Robots make great science fair projects. You learn the latest technology and have fun in the process. Just don't let this guy get a grip on you!You love the BattleBot wars on TV. Now create your own robot project to demonstrate the principles of electronic control of electro-servomechanisms. Ok, lets do it because it's fun as well as educational. With the programmable arm kits, you can demonstrate the robotic principles that are actually being used in industry today. Pick up and move objects under manual or personal computer control.

Other robots sense sound or light and move in response to external stimulus. Clap your hands to make them jump, or let them seek out a source of light. Program some robots up to 256 different steps under your command. You'll learn about electronics, mechanics, computer programming and control systems. Impress the judges and have some cool toys after the science fair. Yes, you can even find Battlebots at HobbyTron! Find Robot Kits for Your Science Fair Projects Here

2. Dazzle Them With Electronics
You're never too young or too advanced to build an electronic project that will wow teachers, visitors and science fair judges alike. We have electronic labs and trainers that Put some power in your science fair projects with electronic components and kits. Learn the lessons in the guide and then see if you can create your own circuits.will start you out simple and easy and then progress to more sophisticated applications. Flash lights and make noises. Build a Morse code telegraph or a radio. How about a radio transmitter? Build a touch switch, kitchen timer or electronic organ. Graduate to electronic games as you increase your proficiency with transistors, transformers, diodes, capacitors, oscillators, basic electronic circuits, and schematic symbols. Control liquid crystal displays, just like the ones found on many appliances, scientific and industrial instruments. Create experiments with fiber optics and solar power. No need to use soldering irons with most of these lab kits. You simply plug in the components and wire them together to get the results you want. If you are shooting for first prize, try combining experiments to create something new and useful that solves a real problem. Explain how you understand the workings of electronics and have applied your knowledge to go beyond what is in the lab books. That WILL dazzle them! Click Here to Find Electronics Kits and Labs

3. Build a Heart Monitor
View the electrical signals from your beating heart just like the doctors do when you build a heart monitor as a science fair project. This is definitely an advanced project, but one that is certainly impressive at the high school level and incredible for a genius middle schooler. The electronics in this electrocardiogram monitor sense the electrical signals from the heart and display the ECG / EKG waveforms on an external monitor as well as providing a front panel LED "heart beat." Dig into this area of science and you'll learn how the human heart functions, how it generates electrical signals, and what the different patterns mean. For safety, the kit runs on a standard 9 volt battery. Discover How You Can Build a Heart Beat Monitor

4. Erupt a VolcanoBuild a safe volcano that you can make erupt during the science fair. One of these is always an attention getter.
What's a science fair without Mount Vesuvius spouting off? It's a classic! The Smithsonian Giant Volcano kit erupts internally like a real volcano, but without the toxic fumes or hot lava. It's safe and suitable for students 8 years or older. Developed by a Smithsonian Institution volcanologist, the Smithsonian Giant Volcano will teach you about volcanology as you actually build your volcano and learn the inner workings of nature's amazing volcanoes. The kit also includes 3 real volcanic rocks for your collection: pumice, obsidian, and basalt. Build Your Own Working Volcano Project

5. Build a Radar Gun
Yup. Just like the cops. With this kit, you build an actual working radar usingLearn the principles of radar and then clock some cars, runners, animals, or rockets. the electronics provided and a couple of coffee or juice cans for the antenna. It costs less than a hundred bucks when you're done, but works using the same principle units costing thousands. Measure the speed of cars, planes, runners, boats, horses, bikes, racers or virtually anything that moves. The display is accurate to 1% and you can measure in miles per hour, kilometers per hour, or even feet per second. Amazingly, you can actually hear the Doppler frequency shift of moving objects in an earphone. Read up on radar and learn how Doppler shift is used in weather radar and air traffic control. This is a good project for parental supervision...as long as they don't hog it to themselves. Click Here to Get a Radar Gun Kit

6. Show What's Inside the BodyDemonstrate your knowledge of anatomy with the help of the visible man, visible woman or visible horse as a science fair project.
The visible horse, visible man and visible woman provide an endless education on bones and organs. These are plastic model kits recommended for ages 10 and older. Budding physicians and vets couldn't get a better start at understanding anatomy. The skin is clear plastic. Inside you see the skeleton, major veins and arteries, and internal organs. Use the fully illustrated guide as an introduction to anatomy including, the heart, liver, stomach, spleen, esophagus, aorta, diaphragm, kidney, lungs, intestines, pancreas and more. The visible horse, visible man and visible woman are classic science fair projects. The more you research how the body works, the more you'll impress the judges. Click Here for Anatomy Kits.
